On September 6, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and the Monaco Economic Board (MEB) organised the Monaco-China Economic Forum in Beijing, under the aegis of the Monaco Economic Development Chamber (MEDC) and the Monaco Embassy in China. The Monaco-China Economic Forum is mainly focused on investment cooperation in respects of agriculture, aviation, finance, infrastructure, design, energy and logistics.
CMI was invited to participate in the forum, and signed a strategic cooperation agreement with SBM Offshore, the world's largest FPSO operator headquartered in Monaco. Hu Xianfu, General Manager of CMI, and Bernard Van Leggelo, Managing Director of FPSO business unit of SBM Offshore, signed the agreement on behalf of CMI and SBM Offshore respectively.
According to the agreement, the two parties will carry out all-rounded cooperation in the design and construction of high-end offshore engineering equipment including FPSO, FLNG and FSU, focusing on technology research and development, marketing, construction of equipment, comprehensive investment and financing solutions etc. The signing of this cooperation agreement marked a leap-forward progress in the development of high-end offshore engineering equipment such as FPSO and FLNG, and laid a solid foundation for CMI to become a leading manufacturer and service provider of offshore engineering equipment.
