CMI have obtained 28 R&D achievements (Approval in Principles (AIP) from by ABS, CCS, DNV and other institutions), such as a new type of high efficient offshore wind power installation service vessel, south China Sea gas hydrates exploration method and equipment, Arctic drilling platform, etc. As a result of years of technological breakthroughs, China Merchants Group (CM) and China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC)jointly released to the world the first self-developed and self-built CM-SD1000 medium-deep water semi-submersible platform. The independently developed non-metallic flexible riser sample appeared in Shanghai Maritime Exhibition for the first time, which caused great attention in the industry.
