On March 8th, CMI Weihai signed the contracts of two 7000 CEU Dual Fuel PCTC vessels with Eastern Pacific Shipping, which are the option vessels after signing four vessels of the same type last year. Up to now, CMI Weihai has placed 6 orders for this type of vessels.
This series of dual fuel PCTC vessels have a length of 199.9 meters, a moulded breadth of 38 meters, a designed draft of 8.6 meters, a gross tonnage of 72,000, a designed speed of 19.5 knots, 12 cargo decks in total. These PCTC vessels are equiping a high pressure dual fuel engine and two sets of 2000 m3 LNG storage tanks. As a new generation of environmental and friendly vessels, these PCTC vessels meet IMO TIER III emissions standards, and could reduce around SOx emissions by 99% , NOx by 80%, PM by 90% and CO2 by 30% by using dual-fuel hybrid power and a numbers of environmental protection technologies.
The successful signing of two 7000 CEU Dual Fuel PCTC vessels has marked a good start for CMI Weihai to take orders this year, and two of these vessels will start construction this year. CMI Weihai will ensure that all projects are delivered to shipowners on schedule with excellent technical ability, excellent on-site service, strict quality control and efficient construction speed.
